Applied Catalyst Technology Engineer

Purpose of the role:

We are looking for an experienced Applied Catalyst Technology Engineer to join our team and deliver technical support for our customers in the Ethylene application. The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance to support our customers' operations across the Middle East and Africa.


Responsibilities

Customer Technical Support

  • Provide on-site and remote technical assistance to Ethylene customers across the MEA region
  • Monitor and analyze catalyst performance, identify issues, and recommend corrective actions
  • Troubleshoot catalyst-related problems and conduct root cause analysis
  • Build and maintain strong technical relationships with customer process and engineering teams 

Application & Project Management

  • Lead catalyst loading, start-up, and performance evaluation activities
  • Prepare and present technical reports and performance summaries to customers
  • Coordinate with global ACT and Sales teams to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Support business development by identifying opportunities for catalyst upgrades and new product introductions 

Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with R&D, Sales, and global ACT teams to develop tailored solutions
  • Contribute to modelling, data analysis, and technical documentation
  • Share customer insights and market intelligence with the broader organization

 

Requirements

Requirements:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Chemistry, or Chemical Technology.
  • Only GCC Citizens are requested to apply.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in plant operations or catalyst technical service in a chemical plant such as Petrochemical, Refinery, or Oil & Gas plants. 
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of catalyst technology and syngas applications
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to troubleshoot effectively and good communication skills
  • Tailored Solutions and Accountability: Capable of providing customized support for customer operations
  • Complex System Analysis: Proficient in analyzing and optimizing performance
  • Impactful Support: Delivering technical support that drives customer success across diverse environments
