Senior Functional Engineer - Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering

Leading the Electrical and Instrumentation & Automation (E&I) technical role in all investment projects of Clariant in India


Responsibilities

  • Define the E&I project scope and technical solutions to meet the business case together with the project owner
  • Ensure technical implementation to meet all quality, ESHA and legislative requirements            
  • Ensure the execution of all required work within budget and schedule
  • Manage and control project risks and initiate corrective measures in case of deviations                    
  • Develop automation philosophy, control system architecture, system and functional specifications for PCS & SIS    
  • Select and size field instrumentation including flow, temperature, pressure, LT, LS and CV          
  • Prepare instrument & I/O list, datasheets, cable tray layouts, RIO configs, and instrument location plans                     
  • Design electrical systems including load lists, MCC, PCC, and downstream electrical requirements for projects           
  • Manage vendor document approval, conduct FAT, oversee commissioning activities for hardware & software systems   
  • Design, execute safety and communication systems including Fire Alarm (FA), Public Address (PA) 

 

Requirements

  • A graduate engineer with a degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, or Control Engineering (or a closely related discipline).
  • A minimum of 15 years of overall professional experience, including at least 5 years in a lead engineer or project manager role delivering small to medium-sized capital investment projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of Siemens PCS 7, OSI PI, and Industry 4.0 concepts and technologies.
