Head of Supply Chain Planning (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

  • Demand Forecasting: Developing and overseeing the process of forecasting demand for the company's products.
  • Inventory Management: Strategizing and implementing inventory management practices to maintain optimal inventory levels. This includes minimizing excess inventory while ensuring that enough stock is available to meet customer demand and production requirements.
  • Production Planning: Collaborating with production teams to develop production plans that align with demand forecasts and inventory targets. This involves scheduling production runs, coordinating with suppliers, and optimizing production efficiency.
  • Supply Planning: Managing the procurement process to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and components needed for production. This may involve negotiating contracts with suppliers, managing supplier relationships, and mitigating supply chain risks.
  • Distribution Planning: Optimizing the distribution network to minimize transportation costs and lead times while ensuring timely delivery to customers. This may involve selecting transportation modes, establishing distribution channels, and optimizing warehouse locations.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supply chain planning, such as forecast accuracy, inventory turns, and on-time delivery. Analyzing performance data to identify areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborating with other departments, such as sales, marketing, finance, and operations, to align supply chain planning efforts with overall business objectives. This includes sharing information, coordinating activities, and resolving conflicts or bottlenecks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously seeking opportunities to improve supply chain processes, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency. This may involve implementing new technologies, streamlining workflows, and adopting best practices from the industry.
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential risks to the supply chain, such as supplier disruptions, transportation delays, or geopolitical issues, and developing strategies to mitigate these risks. This may include implementing contingency plans, diversifying suppliers, or securing alternative transportation routes.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Providing leadership and direction to the supply chain planning team, including setting goals, providing guidance, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. This may also involve recruiting, training, and developing team members to ensure a high level of performance.

 

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as supply chain management, logistics, operations management, business administration, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A MBA or Master's degree in supply chain management is beneficial.
  • 10+ years of experience in a global business environment.
  • 5+ years in leadership position.
  • Proficient system in SAP.
  • Experience in leading the S&OP process.
  • Experience in building system capabilities and developing planning organizations.
  • Ability to drive cross-functional change management.
  • Strong team leadership skills.
  • Ability to take initiatives, prioritize and allocate resources towards goals achievement.

 

Beneficial but not essential:

  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Change Management.
