Sr. Safety and Compliance Officer

Clariant is seeking a Senior Safety and Compliance Officer to support the Catalysts division at the production facility in Louisville, KY. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the site's compliance with safety regulations and maintaining a culture of safety and risk management. You will work closely with the ESHA Manager and Site Manager to promote safety standards, manage compliance audits, and ensure effective incident response and root cause analysis. Responsibilities

•    Coordinate with the ESHA Manager to implement company expectations and top safety priorities
•    Support the Site Manager in ensuring legal compliance and effective risk management at the site
•    Ensure consistent application of both group and local ESHA processes at the site level
•    Assist with the management and execution of compliance audits and corrective actions in collaboration with the ESHA Manager
•    Participate in the Louisville Emergency Management Team, providing expertise during emergencies and ongoing preparedness efforts
•    Conduct incident response, perform reviews, lead root cause analysis, and complete required incident reporting
•    Maintain site compliance related to critical Process Safety and Regulatory programs, limits, etc.
•    Develop personnel through cross-training to ensure backups for critical tasks and support staff development
•    Build and maintain Emergency Response components and continually improve the program through drills and exercises
•    Achieve and sustain high Occupational and Process Safety performance levels for the Louisville Site
•    Cultivate professional contacts and engage in collaboration with regional associations.
•    Work closely with Corporate ESHA and Operations leadership to ensure consistent ESHA performance across the organization
 


 

Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree in ESHA or a related field from an accredited university, or equivalent job experience
•    1-3 years of experience in safety/regulatory compliance, chemical production, or a similar field
•    Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
•    Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Management Plans (RMP), OSHA 1910, and National Incident Management System (NIMS)
