Procurement Manager Latam - Chemicals

At Clariant, we're seeking a Procurement Manager LATAM specializing in Chemicals (experience in oleochemicals is a plus) to join our diverse team in LATAM. In this individual contributor position reporting to the Global Head of Oleochemical, you'll bridge business needs with market opportunities, collaborate with brilliant minds from diverse backgrounds, and directly impact how efficiently and sustainably we source materials for our operations. Responsibilities

  • Source chemical materials within aligned strategies and negotiate optimal deals
  • Manage contracts and supplier agreements in SAP (Contracts, NDAs, QNS)
  • Identify improvement opportunities through bundling, de-specification, and demand analysis
  • Drive Procurement Best Practices across your portfolio of chemicals including oleo chemicals.
  • Develop and maintain category sourcing strategies for the portfolio in line with business strategies.
  • Portfolio scope: Latam (+ Noram as extended responsibilities)
  • Research new suppliers and alternative sourcing concepts
  • Monitor market trends, forecast prices, and contribute to monthly reports
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams as the BU Single Point of Contact for ICS LATAM
  • Drive strategic initiatives and represent procurement in business processes
  • Build and evaluate supplier relationships, implementing performance improvements
  • Support the Key Supplier Management program
  • Implement corporate sustainability initiatives within the supplier base
  • Contribute to supplier assessments and ensure audit-conforming processes

 

Requirements

  • Business/Procurement background
  • Chemical/engineering knowledge
  • 5+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing industry
  • Experience in multicultural environments
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in English & Spanish is essential / Portuguese is a plus
  • Experience with SAP and digital procurement tools
