Regional Buyer - Indirect Spend

The position holder is responsible for the implementation of sourcing strategies and supply contracts for Packaging and Corporate Services categories, with exclusive focus on strategic suppliers. The position has a primary focus on Mexico, with support to operations in the United States.


Responsibilities

  • Support Category Managers in implementing sourcing strategies for strategic suppliers of Packaging and Corporate Services
  • Execute RFPs, RFQs and conduct complex negotiations with strategic suppliers in Mexico and USA
  • Implement strategic contracts developed and approved by Procurement Managers and Category Managers
  • Negotiate high-value contracts and agreements for strategic suppliers in Mexico and USA regions
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key strategic suppliers
  • Manage complaints and resolve complex issues with strategic suppliers
  • Monitor performance and KPIs of strategic suppliers
  • Ensure high level of automation (e-Catalogs, SAP Contracts, e-Sourcing) for strategic suppliers
  • Actively contribute to savings and NWC improvements, aligned with Procurement targets
  • Establish and conduct effective communication with stakeholders in Mexico and USA
  • Coordinate strategic needs between Mexican and American operations
  • Align expectations with Business Units regarding strategic supplier deliveries

 

Requirements

  • Degree in Business administration, Marketing, Chemistry or Engineering
  • *Experience in Strategic Procurement or similar functions (Commercial/Sales area is recommended)
  • *Proven experience in strategic supplier management
  • *Experience with Packaging and/or Corporate Services categories is a plus
  • *Experience in operations in Mexico and/or USA is desirable
  • *Experience in complex negotiations and high-value contracts
  • *Technical experience or background is a plus (chemical industry)
  • Advanced negotiation and strategic analysis skills
  • *Fluency in English and Spanish (mandatory) for effective communication between Mexico and USA
  • *Knowledge of e-Sourcing tools and SAP systems
  • *Ability to work in multicultural and multi-regional environment
  • *Knowledge of procurement regulations in Mexico and USA is an advantage
  • *Ability to manage long-term strategic relationships
  • *Strategic vision and ability to implement complex sourcing strategies
