Project Manager M&A (m/f/d)

As we continue to sharpen and expand our portfolio and explore strategic opportunities for growth, we are seeking a talented, experienced, and highly motivated M&A Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical role in driving our M&A initiative forward, from target identification to sourcing and from initial due diligence to contract negotiation and signing as well as post-signing closing preparation, both on the buy-side and sell-side.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of M&A and divestment projects, including strategic planning, due diligence, negotiation, and signing / closing preparation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess potential acquisitions, identify synergies, and develop integration plans.
  • Manage relationships with external advisors, including legal counsel, financial advisors, and investment banks.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis, including valuation modelling and scenario planning, to evaluate potential transactions and prepare informed decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory as well as internal requirements and alignment with strategic objectives throughout the M&A and divestment process.
  • Provide regular updates and reporting to executive leadership and stakeholders on M&A activities and progress.
  • Drive continuous improvement and best practices development within the M&A function, optimizing processes and maximizing value for the organization.

 

Requirements

  • A Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, preferably at an I-Bank, a Big Four firm or in corporate M&A.
  • Strong project management skills with a proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong quantitative skill set, including in financial analysis and valuation modelling.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Experience in or understanding of the chemicals industry preferred but not strictly required.
