Regional Technical Manager

The Regional Technical Manager provides leadership, technical expertise, and customer support for deepwater accounts within the region reporting into the Head of NORAM Oil Services within Clariant's Care Chemicals Business Unit. This project-based role focuses on flow assurance and asset integrity for new wells, ensuring customer operations are optimized and aligned with the regional management plan. Serving as the key technical liaison between customers and Clariant's technical teams; this role delivers tailored solutions, supports business growth, and strengthens long-term relationships. The position is remote, with some travel required to customer sites in Houston. This role hsa a full package offering including a 20% sales incentive bonus and company vehicle.


Responsibilities

  • Perform or manage field testing on new product recommendations and assist sales teams with start-ups of new applications.
  • Interpret data, problem-solve operational challenges, and deliver written recommendations that ensure customer operations meet performance standards.
  • Act as the primary technical advisor for assigned accounts, ensuring all recommendations align with the regional management plan.
  • Collaborate with the District Manager and sales team to support product strategy, execute customer trials, and contribute to sales growth initiatives.
  • Serve as a liaison between Clariant’s technical teams in The Woodlands and the customer, ensuring clear communication and delivery of commitments.
  • Promote ESHA (Environment, Safety, Health, and Asset integrity) awareness and actively participate in all company training and compliance programs.
  • Conduct regular technical reviews, health checks, and presentations with customers to ensure proper utilization of Clariant’s products.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular engagement, problem resolution, and technical support.
  • Plan and deliver customer training sessions, seminars, or workshops as needed to enhance technical awareness and strengthen partnerships.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum), Chemistry, Business, or Industrial Distribution; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experienced technical background with the ability to troubleshoot, analyze data, and present clear technical recommendations.
  • Proven ability to maintain and grow customer relationships.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently in a remote role and travel to customer sites in Houston as required.
