Business Segment Controller Global - Mining

We are seeking a Business Segment Controller to join our Mining segment. In this role, you will serve as a key financial business partner for segment leadership, combining strategic thinking with operational finance expertise to drive business performance.


Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the BU Controller and being a true business partner to the Business Segment Head as dotted line report.
  • Constructively challenging the Segment Head, driving performance, setting financial and operational KPIs and being co-responsible for the financial results of the Mining segment.
  • Making a major contribution to the development and execution of the growth stategy of the segment.
  • Accountability for the finance activities of the respective segment and ensuring ‘best in class’ controlling infrastructure.
  • Regulating & anticipating financial issues including price and margin management, risk management and OPEX cost’s controls, segment related M&A projects and Net Working Capital optimizations.
  • Acting as Regional Partner for controlling topics of the BU.
  • Playing an active role in the global BU Controlling team, taking initiatives to increase team’s performance, cooperation, and effectiveness.

 

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years in financial controlling or finance roles within complex matrix organization
  • Experience in M&A activities (including target screening, financial due diligence, deal modeling, and transaction structuring) will be considered an advantage.
  • Proficiency with SAP BW, Excel and Power Bi.
  • Ability to work in a business of scale to simplify, clarify and improve decision making, streamlining processes and systems.
  • Advanced Portuguese and English required, Spanish will be considered a differential.
