Supply Planner

Optimize regional supply chain for the Adsorbents & Additives Business Unit, ensuring product availability while balancing inventory and operational costs.


Responsibilities

  • Supply Planning & Scheduling

    • Collaborate with Global Supply Managers and the Order Management team to develop detailed planning scenarios.
    • Create feasible production schedules using optimization algorithms that consider operational constraints.
    • Ensure the proper status of plans and sales orders within the system.
    • Plan strategic raw materials for allocated production lines and manage the purchase order process, including call-offs for these materials.
    • Maintain agreed safety stocks, potentially allocating them according to regional needs.
    • Determine economic value parameters (EVPs) based on planned utilizations.

    Inventory Management & Monitoring

    • Monitor inventory levels, including stock, work-in-progress (WIP), and goods-in-transit (GIT), and initiate corrective actions as needed.
    • Review and adjust short-term production and purchase plans, including capacity utilization and call-offs for strategic raw materials.
    • Optimize inventory levels and ensure material availability according to sales forecasts, orders, and production plans.

    Coordination & Communication

    • Lead the Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) process for assigned supply chains.
    • Coordinate components and resources to enable lean production.
    • Communicate production plans and lead times to relevant stakeholders, including Global Supply Managers.
    • Alert stakeholders about capacity limitations based on production feedback.
    • Display long-term production planning in the planning system.

    Reporting & Analysis

    • Provide planning input to the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) tactical and strategic processes.
    • Report and analyze production lead times and delivery reliability of strategic raw materials.
    • Report and analyze planning scenarios.

    Continuous Improvement & Excellence

    • Implement improvement measures defined in collaboration with Global Supply Managers.
    • Participate in the development of new planning systems and logistics processes.
    • Foster a high-performance culture and promote organizational values (e.g., Clariant Excellence), including proposing improvement projects.

 

Requirements

  • Industrial, Process or Supply Chain Engineering degree
  • 5+ years experience in production planning or supply chain
  • Proficiency in SAP and Advanced Planning Systems (APO, Kinaxis)
  • Experience with linear optimization algorithms and financial calculations (CP1, EVP, Inventory carrying costs)
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced english skills for conversations
  • Beneficial but not essential:
    • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
    • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)
    • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
    • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
