EHSA Operation Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Policy and Regulatory Compliance & Management: Continuously monitor and update stakeholders on requirements from governmental regulatory agencies, serve as the focal point for assigned EHSA-relevant regulations and compliance matters, Maintain, improve, and implement EHSA regulations, policies, and procedures in accordance with local and international standards 
  • Training & Competency Development: Develop and deliver training programs on EHSA standards, regulations, and best practices, ensure all personnel are adequately trained and competent in their EHSA responsibilities, Maintain training records and track completion rates 
  • Performance Monitoring & Improvement Monitor: EHSA performance metrics and KPIs across Bus and SUs, Analyse trends, identify gaps, and recommend priorities and actions for continuous improvement, Prepare regular reports on EHSA performance for management review
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Track and analyse EHS metrics, leading and lagging indicators, identify trends and patterns to drive proactive safety improvements, Prepare management reports and presentations on EHSA performance 
  • Risk Assessment & Management: Collaborate with stakeholders to conduct comprehensive risk assessments (HAZOP, PHA, EHWA, etc.), Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, Ensure identified risks are properly controlled and documented
  • Emergency Preparedness & Response: Oversee the development and execution of emergency response plans, Organize and conduct emergency drills, exercises, and training sessions, evaluate drill performance and implement corrective actions as needed 
  • Hazardous Chemical Management: Manage hazardous chemical programs, including inventory control and safe handling procedures, maintain controlled chemical inventory (drug precursors, explosive precursors, and other regulated substances), Oversee chemical sample mailing room operations and ensure compliance with shipping regulations (IMDG, IATA DGR, etc.) • Ensure proper labelling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials 
  • Incident Investigation & Analysis: Conduct thorough investigations of accidents, injuries, incidents, and near-miss events, identify root causes and develop corrective and preventive actions , Track implementation of corrective actions until risks are adequately controlled, maintain incident database and generate trend analysis reports 
  • Additional Duties: Support internal and external EHSA audits and inspections, Participate in EHSA-related projects and initiatives, perform other tasks as assigned by line manager 

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in safety engineering, industrial hygiene, environmental science, chemical engineering or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience implementing EHS programs in an industrial setting
  • Extensive knowledge of EHS regulations and standards e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001/14001
  • Risk assessment, auditing, investigative expertise
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and analytical
  • Anticipates challenges and implements preventive solutions
  • Drives continuous improvement with entrepreneurial mindset
  • Fluency in written and spoken English abilities
