Head of Sales Ethylene Americas

As Head of Sales – Ethylene, you will lead and inspire a regional sales team to achieve meaningful growth targets across one of the world's most dynamic petrochemical markets. As part of Clariant's Catalysts Business Unit, you will shape the full commercial agenda across the Americas — from executing differentiated segment strategies and driving value-based pricing, to building key licensor partnerships that secure major new plant projects across the region. This is a strategic leadership role where your vision, collaboration, and commercial expertise will directly shape Clariant's market position in North America's ethylene industry. You will develop a high-performing team, bring together cross-functional stakeholders, and introduce new innovations to market — partnering with some of the most influential names in global petrochemicals. This position can be based at either of our Clariant sites in The Woodlands, TX or Louisville, KY.


Responsibilities

  • Deliver regional sales, margin, and cash targets across the Americas in collaboration with a cross-functional team
  • Develop and execute a differentiated regional segment strategy aligned with global objectives
  • Implement value-based pricing, sales concepts, and payables targets across the region
  • Lead go-to-market strategies for new product launches in the region
  • Lead, coach, and develop a geographically distributed regional sales team
  • Drive recruitment, performance management, and career development within the sales function
  • Ensure adoption of defined sales tools and methodologies, including value-based pricing and Miller-Heiman
  • Build an inclusive, efficient, and high-performing team structure
  • Align internal stakeholders across Segment Strategy, Product Management, Technology, Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, and Marketing to deliver regional targets
  • Collaborate with other regions to maximize growth and profitability for the global segment
  • Develop and manage strategic licensor and technology partnerships to secure new projects in the region
  • Serve as the primary management interface for key licensors
  • Initiate customer-driven innovation ideas and support marketing efforts from a customer perspective
  • Drive continuous optimization of commercial processes and supporting tools across the region

 

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Business, combined with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a commercial role within the chemical, petrochemical (steam cracker experience preferred), or related specialty chemicals industry
  • Solid business acumen with demonstrated experience across financial management, commercial strategy, and marketing
  • Proven track record of delivering sales and margin targets in a regional or multi-market environment
  • Willingness to travel across the Americas region as required
