The Industrial Applications Group within Clariant's Care Chemicals Business Unit develops specialty chemical solutions for Coatings, Industrial Lubricants, and Special Applications. Our products serve diverse industries spanning from general manufacturing and automotive to gas cleaning, paints and coatings, and various others. We provide technologies that enhance paint durability, improve lubricant performance, and deliver specialized functionality across numerous industrial processes, helping customers achieve superior product quality and sustainability.

 

Join our Industrial Applications team as a Business Development Manager Sub-segment Coatings EMEA, to spearhead new business development across EMEA accounts with focus on high-potential areas. This strategic position blends technical expertise with commercial acumen, allowing you to build consultative customer relationships while identifying and capitalizing on new market opportunities. You'll partner closely with Account Managers in a collaborative team environment. If you're passionate about exceeding sales targets and driving innovation in specialty chemicals, this position offers the perfect platform to showcase your talents.

 


Responsibilities

 

Customer Engagement & Solution Development

  • Identify and understand customer needs and value drivers to develop tailored specialty chemical solutions
  • Develop close relationships with customer technical teams to better understand requirements and challenges
  • Pitch Clariant solutions and introduce new products, translating complex technical information into compelling value propositions

Sales Growth & Pipeline Management

  • Create and actively follow-up on leads and opportunities with defined customers
  • Drive sales growth by expanding share of wallet with existing customers and developing new business relationships
  • Build and manage a robust CRM pipeline for the target portfolio
  • Optimize opportunity funnel progress to maximize conversion rates and revenue generation

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Account Managers and A&D in a coordinated team setup
  • Provide market insights to innovation and marketing teams
  • Hand over established business to account managers after first sales

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel 50-75% (depending on geographic location)

 

Requirements

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Economics, Business or other related fields
  • Minimum +5 years of sales experience - in chemical specialties, coatings or adjacent industries, with proven results in a competitive business environment
  • Language skills: English C1, additional languages present a benefit
